Concrete Screen Scenes.

Here are some of the scenes that I have completed with the utmost confidence in that they are core to the movie as a whole and that the scence itself flows pretty well. Tell me what you think. They are in no particular order.

INT. PROBATION OFFICE – MORNING

The PROBATION OFFICER, a black woman with a bob and business casual attire sits at a wide desk scattered with loose papers and various folders. She is reviewing a set of files, repeatedly looking up to observe a man on the receiving end of the law – PAC. She then sets the papers down, revealing the police badge hanging from her neck, straightens her posture, closes her hands, and begins to speak.

PROBATION OFFICER (cont’d)

Amar, first name Manuel. Charges include vandalizing public property, otherwise known as minor terrorism, possession of stolen goods…

PAC’s feet are tapping with rhythm; he’s wearing black Vans with metallic “wildstyle” graffiti eloquently drawn in marker on top. PAC’S music becomes more audible as she lowers her voice. She then stops talking altogether and pauses to get his attention.

(Tersely)

Mr. Amar, if you want to get out of here now I suggest cease with the noise. Immediately!

PAC’s feet stop. His right hand presses stop on his iPod. His left hand slides down the headphones from his ears to his neck. His face is still not shown.

PROBATION OFFICER

This being your first major offense as an adult let me clarify how easy you got off considering your laundry list of a wrap sheet as a juvenile. Records show you vandalized seven buildings, three of them property of the city, the remaining being buildings of private business owners. You were caught having cans of spray paint on your person more than once, being a minor. You’ve paid plenty fines and have done multiple hours of community service and jail time, including the most recent charge which landed you six months at County. The grievances you have put on this city’s legal system should have you locked up for a very long time. And though legally recognized as an adult, you’ve had a continuum these charges as though you’re Peter Pan (pause). Let it be known that you are to report to me every two weeks until your probation period ends. You are not to be involved with any illegal activity, thus elevating your probation to mandatory incarceration by way of MY petition! Are we clear?

The PROBATION OFFICER slams the files down in front of PAC. A pen then rolls over next to the lines of signature on the top sheet of paper.

Fade out. The title appears in block letter graffiti, then transforms into bold Stencil STD font.

Character Creation

1. What does my character need/want? What is his goal?

- My character's goal is to express himself freely, fully. His art is his passion. Hip-Hop is his life. He wants to find a way where he can fully immerse himself in the movement with no setbacks.

2. What kind of attitude does he have?

-My character's attitude is very outgoing, which may not always work for the better. However, he is at a point where he is becoming more disciplined, mature if you will.

3. What kinds of relationships does he have?

-I have not been too elaborate on this, but he does have multiple relationships. He has one with his crew, a family connection, to go along with his person maybe a brother, and his relationship the feds =)

4. What are his personality traits?

-He's very careful, motivated, has a bit of a sense of humor, may be easily angered, however.

5. What does he look like?

-About 5'7", 5'8", tan complexion, average build, facial hair, brown, round eyes, glasses, sometimes I imagine him with a tattoo on his arm. His jeans sag slightly, pretty much a simple t-shirt and denim kind a guy, with a hoodie when he feels it is need.

6. What kind of physical behaviors does he have?

-He walks with a casual swagger, he's very observing of his enviroment therefore he looks around a lot, Yet he is very cautious in his movement for he always wants to be in control. When he has a task, he's punctilious yet quick.

7. What are his likes, dislikes, activities or interests?

-He loves music, especially Hip-Hop. He has a fondness for graffiti and is immesely involved, from his sketchbook to whatever wall he can get his paint on.  He has legal conflicts and therefore is really not a fan of police or any legal for that matter, but he is not a criminal. He dislikes setbacks however finds a way for there to be motivation out of it.
